The shortest triathlon on our weekend is not only the perfect entry for all those who want to try a triathlon for the first time, but also the perfect stage for ambitious young athletes to present themselves. With 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling, and the final 5 kilometers of running, you will already experience the pure triathlon feeling at Stubenberg Lake.
I'm at Stubenberg Lake
Swim: 750 m
The swimming course traditionally follows a triangular route and is swum counterclockwise. Starting directly next to the finish line, the course follows the shore towards the opposite side of the lake. From there, it turns twice at 90 degrees to the left back towards the transition area. A total of 750 meters will be swum. The entire swimming course is very well visible.
AROUND THE APFELLAND
Bike: 20 km
After 300m of flat warm-up, you have to climb 70 meters in altitude over 700m at the sea exit (Neuwaldstrasse). Then turn left onto the 'L414' country road, where you can maintain a good pace for 6km on mostly downhill terrain. The ascent to the roundabout in Hartl marks the beginning of the slightly selective 7km section. Once at the top, in the Hinterwald district, there is a 2km descent into the valley towards 'L403'. The following flat section ends in St. Johann with the last small hill of about 100 meters altitude. Passing the Herberstein Zoo, turn left again onto Neuwaldstrasse towards the lake area.
AROUND THE STUBENBERGSEE
Run: 5 km
The 5 kilometers goes around the lake with a small detour onto Austraße. Once at the turning point, it's back towards the finish. The entire route has no altitude meters and is completely paved.
