Data protection

The protection of your personal data is of particular concern to us. We process your data exclusively on the basis of the legal provisions.

1. Processing of your data

All data that you provide to us when you conclude a contract with us (e.g. purchase of one of our products, participation in an event contract) or make an inquiry to us (e.g. question about a product or out of personal interest) will be used by us exclusively for the purposes of fulfilling the contract or responding to your inquiry, to the extent that you have consented to the further processing of the data, or as required by law (Art 6 para 1 lit b DSGVO (General Data Protection Regulation)).

Only if you give your consent pursuant to Art 6 para 1 lit a DSGVO, we will use your data, which you provide to us in connection with this consent, for other purposes, such as sending scientific information in newsletters, etc. The precise purpose of use is determined by the respective declaration of consent. The consent to the processing of your data is given on a voluntary basis and you can refuse this consent without any disadvantage to you.

You may revoke your consent at any time, noting that data processing operations that are necessary for the performance of contracts or legal obligations may still be carried out by us. Until your revocation is received, your data may be lawfully processed by us.

You will not be disadvantaged by revoking your consent for processing your data and you will no longer receive any promotional information from us.

2. Transmission of your data to recipients

Your data will be transmitted to the companies associated with us as mentioned in your declaration of consent and to medical societies supported by us with your consent. These companies are only allowed to process your data to the extent that you have given consent.

In addition, we outsource individual data processing operations to external service providers. These so-called processors will only have access to your data to the extent necessary for their services. Processors are also subject to the strict provisions of data protection law and are bound by the processing purposes prescribed in the contract by us; thus they are not allowed to use your data for other purposes.

We make your data available to the following processors:

  • IT service providers utilized by us (e.g. storage space)

  • Logistics service providers (e.g. courier services)

  • Communication service providers (e.g. fax dispatch, mail dispatch)

  • Credit institutions for the purpose of payment

  • Tax consultants

  • Legal representatives or courts in the event of a specific case

Some of these recipients are located outside the European Union (EU) or process your data there. We only transfer your data to countries for which the European Commission has decided that they have an adequate level of data protection comparable to that of the EU (e.g. "Privacy Shield").

Your data will not be passed on to third parties for their commercial use unless you expressly agree to such disclosure in a separate statement.

3. Storage period

Your data will only be stored by us for as long as we reasonably consider it necessary to achieve the purposes mentioned above and as permitted by applicable law. We store your data as long as legal retention obligations exist or the limitation periods for potential legal claims have not yet expired.

4. Data processing when using our website

a. Storage of access data in server log files

You can visit our websites without providing any personal information. We only store access data in so-called server log files, such as the name of the file requested, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, and the requesting provider. These data are evaluated exclusively to ensure the smooth operation of the site and to improve our offering and do not allow us to draw any conclusions about your person. No personal data is processed through these websites without your active involvement. If personal data (e.g. name, address, email address) is collected on our pages, this is always done on a voluntary basis and requires your active completion and submission of a form. This data is used only for the direct, expressly desired sending of information by us (the precise purpose of use is determined by the respective declaration of consent).

b.  Newsletter

You have the option to subscribe to our newsletters via our website. For this purpose, we require your declaration that you agree to receive the newsletters. In addition, we also collect and process voluntarily provided information on personal data and areas of interest in order to provide you with targeted information. You can cancel the newsletter subscription at any time.
